Our Process

To maximize the return on investment for our clients, we work through Independent Physicians Associations (IPAs), Physician Hospital Associations (PHOs) and other medical communities. We insure the right organizational structure is in place to optimize value for the practices, avoid accusations of collusion and prepare them for the future.

HVA’s engagements take a four-phased approach:

In Phase 1, HVA takes a dual track approach: organization transformation and initiation of HIT implementation.  A launch plan is created describing the activities, milestones and deliverables needed, as well as roles and responsibilities to transform the organization and implement both EPM and EMR technology across all practices.  As part of this phase, the EMR technology is selected.  Working only with CCHIT certified technology, we can help you interact directly with leading names in EMR technology to choose, configure and host leading-edge tools.  Finally, each practice begins using our Quick-Start methodology to identify key roles, technical issues and workflow impacts to ensure they are prepared for the next implementation phases.

In Phase 2, HVA works directly with Super-users at each practice to implement the Electronic Practice Management (“EPM”) technology, ensuring that critical practice data is converted, and that the deployment has minimal impact on practice operations.  During this phase, software requirements for template changes across all practices are selected and prioritized against available development hours so that HVA can begin customization work.  A key benefit to working with HVA is that 1 hour per month of development time is included per provider for each month of the contract you sign with us.  These hours can be used to implement our leading-practice templates or to make your own customer changes.  You choose!

In Phase 3, HVA implements and deploys the EMR technology for all scheduled practices.  Using our leading-practice training approach, practices will experience only minimal loss in productivity of (<3%).  All practitioners will be trained to understand how their functions work within the new technology and how to set their own system preferences.  As new customizations are identified and prioritized, they are customized in the software.  Your practice only goes live after you have tested and signed-off on the quality of the technology.

In Phase 4, HVA provides on-going high-quality post-implementation helpdesk support, data hosting and storage, and system maintenance and upgrades.

  • Helpdesk:  Critical to effective support is ensuring that before the implementation is even complete, our support technicians know the exact dimensions and capabilities of your system.  That way, our U.S.-based helpdesk can personalize your support experience.
  • Hosting:  Your security and privacy are our utmost concern, that’s why your provider organization is involved in the selection and final sign-off of the managed hosting provider.
  • Maintenance and Upgrades:  You have a practice to run, not an IT department.  HVA ensures that all required maintenance and upgrades are performed timely and securely, so that you don’t have to do this.

EMR technology implementation and maintenance is a hard road to walk.  HVA has walked this road, and we can help you find the best path to avoid pitfalls and hardships in your EMR implementation.  For individual practices and providers, HVA can help ensure that significant returns on an investment can be gained within seven quarters, even less if the practice takes advantage of available government grants and incentives.
